Prayer and Fasting Sign-Up
Throughout the Bible, God honors the humble. Fasting is a way to humble ourselves—not to get His attention, but to give Him ours. And prayer is how we join with what He’s already doing among us.
So we’re asking those who call Celina First home to take at least one full day between now and the end of the year. One day to fast from food (if you’re medically able). One day to pray—really pray—for the direction of our church, for the spiritual growth of our people, for the hurting in our midst, for revival in our grand lake region, and for hearts to be soft to the Gospel.
“Humble yourselves before the Lord, and He will lift you up.” – James 4:10
“Return to Me with all your heart, with fasting and weeping and mourning.” – Joel 2:12
“They fasted that day and confessed, ‘We have sinned against the Lord.’” – 1 Samuel 7:6
Fasting for one day may sound hard. It is. But that’s the point. It reminds us that our comfort isn’t king—Jesus is. It’s a way to say, “God, we depend on You more than daily bread.”
This isn’t about checking a box. It’s about lifting up our church in prayer, from the pulpit to the nursery to the hurting soul in the back row. It’s about every ministry, every family, every new believer, and every person yet to walk through our doors.
Choose a date. Deny yourself. Fast and pray. And trust that God will do more in our day of surrender than we could in a year of striving. Let’s be a church that seeks Him first.
Feel free to sign up for as many dates as you would like to. Just put your name next to them. We may not cover every date, that's okay, let's try and cover as many as possible.
